Nobody is perfect 24 hours a day, not parents and not nannies. I see plenty of adults meet and socialize at the park with each other, as well as the children they are with - whether offspring or "charges".

Wow, I cannot believe that THIS is the story that has 16 pages of comments and that there are so many comments against the policy on here! I guess American's are really serious about 24 hour toilet access .... anyway. Just to weigh in here - I have two kids. One in school full-time.

While I appreciate the parents sharing these stories, and admire the ones who were able to recognize and correct their child's behaviour, I have to say that they also highlight to me a common parenting fault ... that parents wait until it is too late to teach their kids proper behaviour and manners.

What feeding a baby is about, or rather, what feeding a baby should be about, is informed decision making. The fact is that there are health qualities to breastmilk that formula simply can't replicate.

To clarify - I mean it is uncommon for a child to grocery shop and prepare meals in isolation. My children come with me to the grocery store to help choose healthy veggies, fruits, etc., they help with figure out some meals and how to make their choices more balanced (e.g.
